This Macha necklace has had many incarnations. The original piece was inspired by the Celtic torcs worn in ancient Ireland. But as time went on, I fell in love with the spirals found in Celtic designs and Macha changed to use these spirals and more color. The piece is named for the woman who was the only High Queen among the High Kings of Ireland.
Participants will learn to make spiral pattern components with circular peyote and and join the components to make three-dimensional triskelians – a motif from the Celts. Participants should be familiar with circular peyote and right angle weave.
