Jewelry from the Byzantine era was rich with semi-precious and precious stones and gold work.  The cross had been a motif in many cultures for centuries and was used as an amulet for protection.  As Christianity became a predominant religion, the cross was identified with this faith and remains so today.  In this workshop, participants will learn to make a cross in the Byzantine style using cylinder beads, freshwater pearls and semi-precious stones.  You will also learn to make a bezel which fits around square rivolis to make a simple but elegant pair of earrings.

One day workshop
Advanced beginner/intermediate – knowledge of peyote is essential.
